Hi,
I have an old Whirlpool Refrig which I recently changed the thermostat for because it would either constantly run or never run unless I tapped the thermostat.
Now, My problem is it does not get cold enough in the Refrig section.
I've noticed that the back metal panel in the refrig has some ice on it. This is where the coil or wire coming off the thermostat goes behind and attaches to.
I tried to defrost the panel using a hair dryer which help because the refrig ran cold for awhile but the frost came back and now the temperature is around 40-50 degrees.
I was wondering if I should pull the thermostat wire/coil out of it's plastic sleeve and attach it to the front of the metal plate so it registers the correct temperature of the refrig rather than the frosted metal plate.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks:confused:
