Hi,

Does anyone know what the ramifications of completely removing the Auto Shut Off Arm, other than having to turn off the ice maker manually? The internal arm that rides along the gear that turns the forks is broken off. I have taken it apart and their was ice in the bottom of the electronics housing. I am hoping that i can thaw everything out and remove the arm and all will be well, hopefully. The shut off arm does have a magnet on it that actuates something on the board. Any advice?

Thanks,

mykyi

Removing that arm will stop the ice maker from normal work. Ice makers made by GE are not reparable. The solution probably is to replace the whole ice maker.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP4345120
