I posted a couple of weeks ago and was told to check my defrost timer. I did and replaced it but the freezer will only get to 19 degrees. I checked the temp switch and I think it checks out but it is a $90 part so I am skeptical on trying. Money is tight and our local repair person wants around $215 just to tell me whats wrong. Is there a way to bypass the temp control switch and leave it on the high setting? Thanks for any help

Pull the freezer back panel and describe the frost pattern.

There is no frost in the back and the coils in the front are cool. I can only get the temp in the freezer to 19 degrees.

The evaporator coils should be entirely covered with light frost, if not you have system problems that can be checked with a set of gauges.
