![]() This is not constant noise, like a fan running. When the unit is running the sound is coming from the middle upper right on the back/while facing the back. The sound is more pronounced from the outside with little noise from the inside. Icemaker works-no frost build up inside-all compartments cooling-solenoid type wind up noise-like something to engage. Thanks

![]() Freezer temp 8 degrees, control setting #3. I removed the inner freezer panels, the evaporator was frosted /not frozen over. Using my pinpoint stethoscope, the noise was coming from the top of evaporator by the insulated bulb & capillary line. I defrosted the evap with a hair dryer-less noise now. Possible defrost timer and or heating element???? What is your opinion?? Should the evaporator coils be free of frost completely when checking out this issue??? Thanks

![]() You may have had only a partial defrost, most likely a defrost thermostat going bad, I would probably replace it.
Your freezer temperature must be lower now, just check and post.

![]() Freezer at 0 degrees-very noisy last night again. I will pull the panels again and defrost with hairdryer if needed. Should I purchase the heating element/thermostat assy and a defrost timer?? OR which unit should I purchase and replace first to solve this issue? Thanks

![]() Your problem is not a defrost problem. If the lowest temerature the freezer will go down to is zero, you might have a partial restriction in the capillary line.
