Hi-Our Amana refrig is a 2005. We are now on our 3rd Jazz board and 2nd Evap Fan. Each time we have had a Service Repair Tech come to the house to troubleshoot and fix this lousy refrig. I'm desperate to find a better fix than $218 - $250 every time to fix it. Can anyone test the actual Jazz brd to see if that is really what's bad (the problem is solved for 2 yrs after replacing it). Is there a better longer lasting Jazz Board and how can I get it? Should the refrig be plugged into a surge protector or universal power supply - I think one repair tech told us NO. Why is the jazz board continually failing? What am I missing here?

The tech is wrong, put a 1000joule surge protector in the fridg outlet, available at Wall Mart, $8.95 should say for appliances on the box.

Thanks, I will. I still have the "failed" board. Is it any more economical to have it tested/repaired then to buy a new one? Maybe I could have a functioning spare one on hand....

Do a Google search for companies that fix boards, have never gone that route, but worth a try. Go with a larger outfit that has good recomendations if available, most you can loose is the shipping fees, never pay in advance.
