Default Hotpoint fridge freezer, running warm.UK
Model Number: FFA70p   Brand: Hotpoint   Age: 1 - 5 years

Hello, and thanks for any replies.
So after maybe a 15 min power cut yesterday I noticed the fridge part wasn't cooling. Left an hour or so and it was noticable the freezer also was not fully cooling.
The compressor runs, and is "hand warm" , and there is some warming of the lower section of coils.
There are no fault lights lit.
The lower section of the freezer is fine now, and also I think the upper part.No cooling of the fridge still, or not noticably.I increased the stat to the fridge to max, the compressor did'nt kick in .
Maybe coincidence, but I think the bulb blew in the fridge after the electric was restored
Have a safe and happy Christmas, richard.

Default Cured itself

So form another forum it turns out a common "fault" is an ice build up on the fan in the back of the freezer. Can be got at via removing the shelves. No mention in the manual. Anyhow as I said the freezer has been cooling, and was fully cooling again when I checked this morning. It can be helped along with a hairdryer , but obs. restarts when free rotating. The fridge is now also cold.Another intresting "feature" of the fridge is the always blocked drain tube, turns out a common prob as it is routed too near the freezer coils . Genius.
