My (Just barely 5 year old) Kenmore Frost Free Heavy Duty Commercial Upright Freezer temp alarm started going off.
Sure enough stuff on top and the door is a bit soft.

I made sure the door was closed all the way and pushed the Quick Free button. (cleared the alarm as well)

I heard the compressor and felt cold air so I thought maybe the door didn't fully close.

Next morning the alarm was going off again.
Tempature seemed about the same, stuff on the bottom was still rock hard frozen (technical term... LOL)

So I did the same thing.. reset the alarm.. turned on and off the Quick Freeze. Then left for work.. hoping for the best.

Came home today.. Still some stuff like the Popsicles were not frozen but all in all it was much better.. Also NO alarm this time.
Sides are still quite warm, Looked at the lines going into the compressor, the HOT return line is very hot and will burn my hand.. (as well as the compresser itself.. the cold side, at least what I think is the cold side isn't all that cold, but not hot either. Not sure if this helps.

It is humid in the basement.. and there is a lot of moisture in the freezer.. at least at first.. not a lot of ice on the bottom of the shelves or tops of things in the freezer..

Taking temp readings with a digital surface thrermometer.

Top inisde back wall where cold air blows out 5 degrees F.
Bottom back wall 10 degrees

Front inside door around 20-25..

I felt the outside sides and they seem to be cooler to the touch.. current reading was around 95 degrees..

Any thoughts?

Check and make sure the condenser fan near the compressor is running.

If it's running check for ice on the evaporator coils in the freezer blocking the air flow. Usually behind the back panel in the freezer. This would be a defrost problem. Post your model number for diagrams. Model Number Locator
