I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.
I tried at AppliancePartsPros and the Sears site.
Kenmore numbers are usually 3 digits. a period and the 8 digits.

Below are a couple good sites that may help you trouble shoot this.
http://www.applianceaid.com/frig.html

Appliance Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com

If by frosting up you mean that the evaporator coils were frosting/icing up to the point that the evaporator/freezer fan could not pull air through them then it sounds like this was a defrost problem.

Your current problem sounds like either a compressor start device problem or a compressor problem. The second link above has info on how to check these.

I had problems with my whirlpool washer and I was told to order a lid switch and order'ed one an that was problem . people should not drop the lid when closeing the lid . Thank you very MUCH . You need to do more troubleshooting.
And I need a model number in order to help you further.

It sounds like the compressor is running which is good.
It will take quite a while for the fresh food section to drop in temperature.
Is the condenser/compressor fan running?
Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?
Can you say where the clicking was coming from?

Sorry but I still cannot find any info on this unit.
If it is a non-USA model then perhaps info is not available.

If by "Round ball" you mean the compressor then perhaps the start device is going.

The following info is for a ET17HKXLWR0 which is probably the same as yours.

Here are the parts.
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL ET17HKXLWR0 Refrigerators* | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

The compressor is Item 1 in section 4.

Trouble shooting stays the same as my earlier post.
