I'm guessing at the age. We've just got it, second hand, for free. I'm in Australia. It is a Malleys
'Tucker Box' 200L freezer. They used to be ubiquitous in Aus.

'Malleys' made under licence by 'whirlpool' I think, owned by eMail in Aus, now owned by Electrolux. No chance of getting any help from Malleys or email.

It runs fine but won't stop. There appears to be no controls whatever.

Down the bottom at the back is a rotating switch mounted on a white plastic rectangle. I think it might be a thermostat control because there appears to be a thin metal pipe running to and from it at the back there. The sort of little (say 2mm diam) pipe I've seen going to other thermostats (in fridges).

Rotating that switch does nothing to switch the thing off. At least not instantaneously and I didn't try rotating it and leaving it for a while.

Any clues, anyone?

regards,

ab :)
