The water line connected to the blue thing (see picture) is my problem. When looking at the fridge the right side of the blue thing has the water line connected to it which is secure and does not come out. However, the left side water line, slips into the blue connector but comes out easily and I'm wondering is there some piece missing or how do I get the water line to stay on? When it's in the blue connector it leaks. Please help.

Cut off this coupler and install a new one AP3103255, a 1/4 X 1/4 inch plastic union.This has compression fittings that are far supperior to the old one.
Tighten it with adjustable wrenches, then try to pull it apart. If is relatively easy to pull apart, you have bad water lines that need to be replaced
