Model Number: MSD 2656GE Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Had the repair guy here two weeks ago to replace the compressor relay.
Cost an arm and a leg. Freezer is icing up and the refrig is not very cold. Turned control to max but no difference. I can hear the fan running. Is this that adaptive defrost timer assembly? Any way to be sure? I have a DVM but only use it to check voltage on car batteries. I'm DVM challenged and cannot read wiring schematics. Thanks Ads By Google Related Models |

Here is your parts breakdown
Model Search Here is a service manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16010154.pdf If the evaporator coils are heavily iced/frosted up then it could be a defrost problem. Not they must be clogged up enough so the fan cannot pull air through them. Just remove the cover and take a look. Looks like the unit is adaptive defrost controlled. Could also be the damper door which allows cold air into the fresh food section is not opening.

I think my frost problem is solved but I have another. No water and ice door does not open.
How would I check the actuator switch in the fountain assembly for continuity before I have to order the control board? Last edited by pkucan : 06-01-2009 at 05:40 PM. |
