Ice maker is not working. Ice maker floods into tray instead of making ice. Water dispenser works fine. Is related to a bad water valve?

could, and usually does cause the issue you're describing. Replacing the valve assembly is a great idea, and should solve your issue. Thanks, :) :) :)

Bought new fill valve. Replaced old one. Water still flooding the ice maker. Can still get water from water side. When water turns on to make ice it floods instead of going into the ice mold.
What would you suggest for me to do next?

What would you suggest for me to do next? Norm D, Have you checked the ice maker fill tube ? Part number: AP2992967
It could be frozen, kinked, or twisted and not aligned properly. That could cause the water to "miss" the icemaker mold like you described. :) :) :)

Checked the tube. It was cleared but put hair dryer on fill cup that water runs in before going into ice tray. Thawed all the ice that plugged it and now have ice once again. Thanks!:)
