Model Number: ZFSB23DRG Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
My freezer is warming up and I often find ice hanging from the ice tray. After reading several similar problems posted and testing the evaporator fan I decided to replace the model wr55x10156 motherboard with a wr49x10152.
My new board came with a one page instruction sheet that suggests two possible installation schemes. If my model does not have a "current source" board connected to the mainboard it's just a simple board swap. How do I determine if I have a current source board? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris Ads By Google Related Models |

They seem to fail too often. My replacement board was a WR49X10152 and it fixed the problem. Good Luck, Chris |

I too replaced the motherboard with the WR49x10152. It was a direct swap - not too difficult to do. No "current source board" is connected on this model. Remove the panel on the lower right side of the back of the refrigerator to access the board.
Temps returned to normal after a few hours and the icemaker started functioning correctly. No melting ice! Judging by the number of failures of the original board, this is a problem that should be addressed by GE by offering a free replacement board as they did with other models. |

I ordered WR49X10152 but received WR4910147 which I was told superceeds the WR55X10156.
From some other source I was also told that WR55X10156 was superceded by WR49X10138, was superceded by WR49X10152. According to this numbering scheme, it sounds like WR4910147 could also work as a replacement for WR55X10156. Is this correct ? It sounds like this board was updated so many times in order to get it right - is there a docu ment showing what upgrades I will be missing by only installing the WR4910147 instead of what the newer version WR49X10152 ??? |

I was having the same problem so I called Ge to find the problem. They replaced the mother board and wa la the fan kicked on. But to our surprise the condenser never came back on and I lost all my food. They came back out and replaced it with another board and still the condencer never came on. SO he put my old board back in and it came on, but the fan still does not come on. So it does not freeze like it should.
What should I do? Marie model # is psc23ngpaww board part# replaced WR55X10942 Last edited by marie Kap : 07-24-2012 at 05:51 AM. |
