Freeze is a but degrees inside but compressor never stops running except when auto defrost kicks in, after defrost mode (approx 20 minutes) Compressor kicks back on and doesn't stop until next cycle. Have changed tepm controler (thermostat) but still does same thing. Possible bad new part???

Check the evaporator coils behind the freezer panel, they should have light frosr over the entire evaporator. If ok, measure the freezer temperature and post.

You might have checked the coils if the fridg just came out of defrost, no light frost is incompatible with a -2 degrees. I woul also check the condensing coils and condenser motor in the back. I asume the evaporator fan is running and cold air is entering the fridg section.

Both fans run constantly also. This is an upright freezer not a frig/freezer. the weird part is that there are no condensor coils visable any where. they appear to be inside the case on the sides of the freezer. both side panels get very warm to the touch about half way up Its a GE. Is there a good way to check the new the thermostat.

Most probably a bad compressor/refrigeration system, freezer should be well below -2 if running all the time. Only gauges and amprobe would confirm.
