Been wonderful for the past 7~8 yrs!
Currently freezer AND refridgerator not staying cold enough. I have read the other posts regarding the themostat and defrost device, but have not performed any 'tests' yet.

Your help please!

I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.
Model Number Locator

If the compressor is running all the time then it could be a defrost problem.
If the evaporator coils are iced/frosted up to the point where the evaporator fan cannot pull air through them then it is a defrost problem.
Need to find the model so that you can test this.

Is the evaporator fan running?
If not that may be the problem.

It only shows inside the door: JCD 2389 GES I can find no other information without taking the unit appart in the back.

Again, it is keeping the food cold in the fridgerator portion and soft in the freezer.
Your help would be greatly appreciated as to which to purchase, the:

Defrost Heater Assembly - Defrost thermostat included.

Part Number: AP4069923
Made by Whirlpool

I cannot say what to purchase as I cannot find the unit.

Also you did not say if this is a defrost cycle.

If it is then you have 3 components in the defrost system.
1. The defrost heater, should be around 20 ohms.
2. The defrost thermostat, should be 0 ohms when frozen. Note that it opens just above freezing.
3. A defrost control device this may be a defrost timer or an adaptive defrost board.

If it is in a defrost cycle the compressor and the condenser (compressor) fan and the evaporator (freezer) fan will all be off. Sometimes units can get stuck in a defrost cycle.

The usual problem with defrost is that it does not work and the coils get clogged solid with ice/frost so the evaporator fan cannot pull air through them and then the unit does not cool efficiently. Usually the compressor runs continuously but it never reaches set point temperature.

So if you remove the cover in the freezer and find the coils iced up you have a defrost problem.
The usual way to trouble shoot is to force a defrost and see if the defrost heater comes on. If it does then it is probably the defrost control device.
That is why knowing whether is has a defrost timer of a ADC board is important as that is how you force a defrost cycle.
