Fridge started freezing food items. The settings to freezer and lower part of the refrigerator have not been changed. The rubber seal to freezer and fridge are sealing properly. We unplugged the refrigerator for approximately 24 hours and plugged it back with same results. We have cleaned back of frig to to remove all lint. The pump to back of frig is hot. Current temp in frig is 20 degrees. All food has been removed and fridge is currently empty.

Check the freezer temperature. It should be between 0 and 5 degrees F.

If the compressor is running most or all of the time and the temperature is lower than the recommended.
Give the thermostat a tap, if the compressor turns off I would replace the thermostat.
If this does nothing.
Turn the freezer temperature down by using the thermostat (Item 21 in Section 3). If the compressor will not shut off then replace the thermostat.
The reason for the above is because the thermostat may be sticking closed so the freezer and fridge get too cold.
Note: both the above must be done after the unit has run for at least 24 hours.

If the freezer temperature is OK, adjust the control (Item 2 in Section 2) in the freezer. This is what regulates the amount of cold air entering the fresh food section.
