HELP!!! I have a Kenmore fridge. When the cooling engine goes on it makes a LOUD baaa baa baa baaa baaa baaa noise.... sounding like a DAA DAAA DAA DAA DAA DAA---MRI if you've ever had one. It sounds like something is hitting as something cycles.....

the NOISE IS COMING FROM DOWN LOW ON THE BACK OF THE FRIDGE

PLEASE HELP!!!

I checked the fans and cold air is still coming from vents in the freezer and fridge.

When I turn down the temp control, then cooling engine goes off and the noise stops

PLEASE HELP!!! I'm about to take the back lower panel off to see if I can pinpoint the noise.....

You are on the right track.
remove the rear cover so you can check the fan and compressor.

You seem to be a newbee so here is a good link with basic info on fridges.
