could someone tell me if my problem is relay or thermostat, when i turn the thermostat all the way off and then back on ,i can hear the compressor come on for a few seconds

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram. Replacement parts for MSD2142AR models | AppliancePartsPros.comI am assuming that the compressor then continually tries to start but cannot. It could be either part you list. You have to do more troubleshooting. Following is a good link with info on how to check things. Note: that if the compressor checks out OK electrically it does not eliminate it as the cause as it may have mechanical problems. The problem is that it cannot be checked with actual working voltage and they can fail when 120 volts is applied to them. Note: That they are very reliable. |
