Defrost stuck on
Model Number: gs6shaxls03 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The front frame betweeen the frig and frezzer is very hot all the time. Could the defrost be stuck on? If so how can i fix without calling a repair person?

Unplug the unit and pull it forward.
Remove the rear cover and clean/check the condenser coils and the fan blade under the unit. Also a good idea to remove the front kick plate and make sure the vents are clear. Before replacing the back, plug it back in and check that the condenser/compressor fan runs when the compressor is on. If OK, unplug it and replace your covers and push it back. Make sure there is at least an inch or two behind the unit so there is adequate air flow.
