So the lights went out in my fridge this morning. It still seems to be keeping things cool and the freezer lights work. The lights are LEDs so it's not as simple as just changing a bulb.

I could some help diagnosing the culprit. I've read that it's often the controller board. Does that seem reasonable? Can I check this before buying a new board and trying it? Can I plug in the fridge lights to the freezer connector and see if the fridge lights come on when I open the freezer?

Any other help/suggestion would be great.

It went into self-protection mode. Just leave it closed and when the compressor cools down enough, it will start. Once the ref starts to cool, the lights and such will come back on. All of this assumes that no failure was caused by the long run times when the door was open. But if you think it doesn’t solve the issue, I strongly suggest you must consult an expert to that.
