Hello Everybody,
Last Saturday, September 24, 2011, we bought a brand new Whirpool side-by-side refrigerator, model ED2KHAXVT, whose vent grille(?), kick plate (?) –I am not sure that this is the correct part name- does notcover the left and right bottom doors black wires, please see attached pics. I keep on looking at photosof refrigerators on varied web sites and I do not see any visible wires. Pleaseadvise. Thank you.

I looked at this unit on the Whirlpool site and it looks like they have changed the design of the kick plate.
Could be the old plate was rubbing on the wires and over time wearing through them.

All I can suggest is go back to where you bought it or another store and take a look at a floor model in case there are a couple extra pieces that clip onto this kick plate.
But odds are that this is normal.

Thank you Denman for taking the time to look into my query and reply so promptly. I will definitely go to the outlet where we ordered it (Home TV Appliance in Mesa, AZ) and to other local dealers and have a look. Again thank you a lot.
