I performed a continuity test on the motor and it was open. After separating the motor housing [ gray bakelite] from the support [black bakelite] I found that 1 of the terminals from the heat element was slightly charred and the copper terminal in the gray motor housing that the terminal plugs into was burnt and the black support was heat damaged where the heater terminal runs thru it. I'm thinking that the motor quit in the heat mode and the continuos heat caused the damage to the copper terminal and the black insulator. Or is it possible that a bad thermostat caused the whole problem?
