Default Circuit board replacement
Model Number: mds2957aew   Brand: Maytag   Age: 5 - 10 years

Why are we not told to install some kind of insulation material between the circuit boards in the fountain controls. The boards are mounted so close together that there is the possability of shorting them out when buttons pushed. No material or instructions shipped with replacement board. I had to learn the hardway and now have to replace another new board. Part # 61003425.

Here is the breakdown for your appliance: Model MSD2957AEW

If you look at the the fountian breakdown they do show a barrier (number 21) in the picture, the fact that it does'nt come with the new board may indicate the manufacturer expects you to use the old one or if lost purchase a replacement.

Click here for barrier: Part Details - MAYTAG Barrier, part number: AP341132

Click for control board: Part Details - MAYTAG Control board, part number: AP341131

Aslo make sure everything was mounted correctly and no othe damage exists. The plastic has a history of warping and may affect the position of the parts.

The manufacturers do not consider parts of boards to be individual parts. They only sell the complete part, so they do not give the individual part ratings out.

Did you find out what the values of resistors are. I have 1 board which sparked and caught on fire part number of 77526-7. On an older board these components show the effects of over heating. I am trying to get Maytag to tell me the difference between the 2 boards and if there was an upgrade for safety reasons.
