Default Icemaker not working
Model Number: 106.55606400   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

The icemaker jammed a week ago because the cubes were not clearing out of the compartment correctly. The cubes did release from the mold. After removing the loose cubes, the icemaker made ice properly. This happened in the past year a few times and was fixed the same way. Two days ago, ice cubes were again loose in the compartment. The ejector arm did not move afterward. Ice was in the mold but the cubes seemed smallish. Removed the icemaker from the freezer. Found that the white plastic gear was pushed out from the grayish motor housing plate, enough so that the metal motor gear was not engaging the plastic gear. Half of the plastic center post tab holding the white gear in place was broken. Pushed the gear back in and reconnected the icemaker. The ejector arm did not move in 12 hours. Removed the icemaker again. Staring at it wondering if there is any way to test it or just buy a new one altogether. Any advice?
