Fridge ceased working after 4-day power outage

Model Number: GC5SHEXNB03 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years

I have a 5-year-old Whirlpool Gold side-by-side fridge/freezer model GC5SHEXNB03. A week ago it was working fine, the power was shut off for four days and now it doesn't cool at all. The lights are working, there is a slight hum for a few seconds after the power is connected, but no fan/compressor doesn't 'kick in'. :-(
Any help would be appreciated. I have a great fear of spending lots of money on a call-out only to be told I should just replace my 5-year-old fridge (or spend a lot of money on it).
