The original problem I was having was the evaporator kept freezing up. I couldn't find anything wrong. I checked the defrost thermostat and thought it was bad because it read zero ohms at room temp. I bought a new one and it also read zero ohms at room temp. After some searching online.., it is supposed to be closed at room temp and then it opens when it gets hot. I verified this by putting it in hot water and it did open. I checked the heater with a meter and it's okay. I checked the temp sensor by the evaporator and it was okay. I even replaced the main control board. It was still icing up. Out of desperation I decided to try the new thermostat. The freezer was working but I noticed the refrigerator was not cooling. It turned out the damper door was completely closed. I opened it and now the refrigerator freezes. I don't know how the damper actually works. This model does have a damper motor. Also referring back to my original problem I did realize there is another temp sensor behind a panel which is located behind the ice maker. I haven't checked that one yet. Could it be my defrost problem.
