This new Frigidaire, which I have had less than a year, never seems to stop running. Let me put it this way, when it stops running, it gets my attention. Anyway, this evening, I walked into the kitchen and smelled something hot. The only appliance running is the fridge, so I suspected the motor is getting too hot or some dust got into a hot part of the system, etc. I want to clean the coils but I cannot them. I have looked at the manuals and, from what I can tell, the coils are sealed!?!?!? How does one get to them? They are not down in front and are not exposed in the back, sooooo......

I pulled the fridge away from the wall (the installers only gave me about an inch back there, which is sufficient according to manufacturer specs) and turned down the freezer temp a little bit. It is still running and has been for several hours. Come to think of it, this unit has been like this ever since it was new. Can anyone help? Is there something I am forgetting? :(

Here is a parts breakdown
Model Search

Use the BE it will be the closest to yours.
Remove the front kick plate.
Pull the unit out from the cabinets
Remove the cover on the back at the bottom
Your condenser coils will be there
Check/clean them
Also check that the fan is running.

If the fan is not running and/or the coils are clean put in a service call.
If you go any further you may void your warranty.

Here are a couple good sites with basic info

when you say to pull the unit out from the cabinets, are you referring to the refrigerator itself? or simply a component within the fridge? (I've seen references to each large section of the fridge referred to as a cabinet and just want to make sure you aren't talking about my kitchen cabinets) :o

Roll the entire refrigerator/freezer combination out from the wall and cabinets so you can access the back.
