Water dispenser will not shut off.What controls the flow?Is there a solenoid valve or a switch of some sort?

David,

While the water coming out of the dispenser by itself, remove the wires from the water dispenser solenoid (green) at the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator.

If the water would not stop, replace the water inlet valve.

It it would, remove the dispenser front panel and check the switch inside.
