The metal part that actually turns the auger just spins on the shaft. I cant find a nut the same size and threads to tighten down on that metal piece. So, I ordered a new one that has a nut already on it. It will screw down (reverse threads). The problem is that I can not get the old one off. I took the whole silver housing out of the freezer and I still can't get it off! I even tried to cut it off with a sawzall! There's not even any way you could get that motor off without that piece coming off. The motor is fine. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought a picture might help. You can see how you couldn't even take the motor off without getting that blade off first. It seems like an odd setup to me.

No ideas? I'm still stuck in the same place.
