Hello all,

My Maytag fridge over freezer has been having problems with the temperature getting too warm in both the freezer and in the fridge. The freezer gets warmer in comparison.

About a week ago I pulled the unit from the wall, cleaned everything (it was pretty clean as far as lint and stuff). I noticed on the back inside wall of the freezer vent it was iced up behind the aluminum panel so I removed it and used my heat gun to melt away all the ice. I put it all back together and it was fine until today. It is acting the same as a week ago and the freezer vent is frozen up again. I have 2 thermometers in both the freezer and fridge to always monitor the temp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most probable problem is the defrost thermostat clipped to the evaporator, if it is bulged open, that would confirm it is bad. Call this site for the correct part # needed.
