Kitchenaid freezer warming up - why?

This morning I heard water running down the inside back of the freezer, I assumed self cleaning. The water has now stopped, but my freezer has warmed up to 17 degrees. Fridge has stayed the same at 37 degrees. Anyone have any suggestions? No water puddles, ice maker is fine, no water shooting out of anywhere! Would love any advice :)
