Model Number: GTS22KBMARWW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Since having its main board, thermostat, and defrost heater, my freezer works fine, except that now it leaves frozen "ice drops" and a sheet of ice about 1/4 inch thick at the bottom of the door tray after defrosting/refreezing. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks for any advice you may offer.

It sounds like the defrost drain is plugged. Its a hole behind the rear wall of the freezer where the water SHOULD run during defrost. If you remove the rear wall, you'll see it. use a turkey baster and FORCE hot water down the drain, Clean up ALL of the ice and put it back together!!! DONE!!!

Thanks for the advice, but the water is even dripping onto the inside shelf; in other words, it gets caught in the shelf and freezes to a layer. There's no chance for it to run off. Also, when they replaced the main board, etc., the fridge had been off for a couple of days. Wouldn't that clear out any "plug" in the drain? Any other suggestions?

No. The stopped up drain tube will stay stopped up till you unstop it by blowing thru it with a turkey baster, your mouth on a tube stick in the drain or compressed air. They usually stop up at the bottom where it is very dusty and moldy.
