We recieved an error code of "F01", so we cleaned out the drain pump filter. After, the washer filled up but threw an "sd" code and would not drain. The original "F01" code points to the CCU, but the repairman says it's the drain pump and that the CCU recognized the drain pump wasn't working showing the code. Should we buy the pump or the CCU? Don't want to go wrong with the purchase. If I order both will this site let me return the wrong one? In the process, we broke the settings knob on the front of the washer. The metal looking rod snapped. Do I just order a new knob or do I need the entire front assembly? (I was able to use needle nose to turn the rod). Help us, asap - family of four needs our washer!!

Tonya,

Based on the information in your post, I'd have to start at the pump, A bad drain pump could account for both the F01 and the SD (suds) codes.
Also check the air dome hose(from the pump to the water level switch). If it's clogged, kinked, twisted, etc. it could also create an issue.

The CCU should be a last resort, you could run the diagnostics and fail code and other tests listed on the Technical Date Sheets located behind the lower access panel.

As you probably figured out, if the shaft for for the selector knob is boken, you will need to order the User Interface assembly,

Part number: AP3890498
Part number: AP3890498

Let us know, and we'll be happy to help you through that repair as well.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Tonya,

Here's some help for replacing the the pump,

1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Turn off the water supply to the washer.

3. Remove the lower front access panel
4. Using a shallow pan to catch the water, unscrew the filter from the
drain pump, and drain the water from the pump.

5. Loosen the clamp and remove the pump to- tub hose from the drain
pump.
6. Loosen the clamp and remove the pump to- drain hose from the drain
pump.

REASSEMBLY NOTE: When you reconnect the hoses, align their tab(s) with the marks on the drain pump.

7. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, lift the rubber pad, and slide the pump
to the left and unhook the bottom tab, then lift the pump out of the
chassis floor slots.

8. Lift the wire cover on the drain pump, and disconnect the wire connector
from the terminals.
9. Remove the wires from the clip, and remove the drain pump from the
washer.

REASSEMBLY NOTE: When you reinstall the
drain pump, make sure that you completely

reseat the rubber pad in its chassis floor slot.

I think you do fine.
Good Luck,
:) :) :)
