Greetings;
Sub-zero model 561 freezer has stopped working. The following proceeded this;
- Problem; Ice maker had stopped working.
Fix; Weird, removed ice maker and while holding it vertical it suddenly started to work?:confused:
- Problem; While working on ice maker noticed that grill in back of ice catcher bin was extremely iced up.
- Fix Gave short blast with low hair dryer to clear coil/fins

That night the freezer went into defrost and defrosted the whole freezer completely!:eek: In the morning had to scramble to save some of the frozen food!
Have noticed the following;
-Defrost timer is expremely warm to the touch and has not given its' usual "Snap" sound.
- Grill fins above the fridge were extremely dirty ( my bad) These were brushed with radiator brush and vaccumed. I then blew them clear with a low setting on air compressor.
- Fan in freezer compartment does not come on when light and fan switches are depressed with the door open.

Refridgerator side appears to be working properly.

Any ideas? Is it possible that the defrost time got hung up?
