Control Panel Locked Up
Model Number: ZISB360DRI Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
Ice dispenser came on all by itself and dumped ice all over kitchen floor until freezer door open and I shut off icemaker power switch. Unable to change modes on the electronic control panel (p/n WR55X10910), so thought the panel had gone bad. Ordered a new one (it's a $400 part) and installed it; no help - panel is locked up as before. Grrr...
I'm unable to change any of the modes - ice/water dispenser, light, control lock. Suggestions on what to do next? It looks like the old control panel is not the problem, so I'm hoping to be able to return the new one I just bought. Ads By Google Related Models

Fixed It
Well, found out my problem. You have to hold down the Lock button for 3 seconds, then it unlocks. If you just touch it briefly it just gives you the finger, so to speak.
Good news is that I didn't take any of the wrapping off the new part, so I should be able to return it for credit.
