Model Number: FRS26R4AW6 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
Ice is building up to the extent that it interfers with he evap motor. The motor will make noise (the blades hitting the ice) for a while and then it stops, resulting in the shut down of both refridgerator and freezer. I've replaced the control kit and the evap motor and still have the same problem after about 10 days of running. Any suggestion as to how to correct the ice problem? Thanks.
In this case the ice build-up appears to be coming from a source above and accumulates on the left side of the evap motor and the top left side of the evap coils. The evap coils had very little ice on them. I looked for a leak in the ice maker supply but couldn't find anything there. Does this sound like a defrost problem? Thanks again.
