I recently acquired a Maytag refrigerator whose freezer worked, but lower section wouldn't cool. I replaced the evapertor fan motor and all was great ... for about 2 days.

Now nothing seems to work except the lights. No fans are running, there is no clicking sound when the refrigerator is plugged in - nothing.

I'm thinking it's something simple - like a switch or relay.

Anyone have any ideas?

You may be stuck in a defrost cycle or the thermostat (temperature control) is bad.

Turn the thermostat back and forth.
If the unit fires up I would replace the control.

Turn the defrost timer (Item 15 in Section 2) cam. There is usually a hole in the cover to let you do this without having to take anything apart.
If it fires up I would replace the defrost timer.

If both the above do nothing unplug the unit and remove the thermostat and check it's contacts when it is set to cold.
Should be 0 ohms.

Interesting ... I can't seem to move the thermostat lever for the freezer. It appears stuck. I'll see if I can unscrew a panel to get to it.
