My Samsung runs well but goes into thermal runaway. I set the temp on the fridge and freezer side...example...fridge 30degrees and freezer 0 degrees. The unit runs well but the freezer will cool all the way to -12degrees the starts flashing. The unit is in shut down mode and begins to thaw. I do a power on reset and everything works well again then it has the same problem again.
I have already found and replaced a defective defrost heater, (Item 41 in freezer compartment) and thermal fuse (not shown in diagram). I ran diagnostics with no reported error. I also replaced the thermistor (Item 38 in freezer compartment) and the Sensor assembly (Item 39 in freezer compartment) Note: the sensor was a different color and the wires are shorter prohibiting installing it at the same location on the evaporator coil. Also the thermistor and sensor were originally on the same connector, the replacements were on separate connectors. I soldered the new ones together on the same connector as the original. I am not sure if the parts were intentionally redesigned different or not. A service manual would certainly help...
