I ordered a new water valve for my GE icemaker. The old one had threaded connections on the water supply and icemaker line. The new one has a threaded end on the water supply and a hole with a white plastic piece inside. It looks as though you cut the vinyl line and shove it in the hole with it being held by sharp teeth pointing downward. The part came with no installation instructions. I could have installed it already if it was exactly like the old part. I am afraid to try this because i eliminated a self tapping valve on the line during my troubleshooting process with the icemaker. If it leaks I will have no way to stop it other than shutting off the water to the house. Help!
