Hglarry,

The auger motor in your freezer compartmrnt, is an A/C powerred single direction motor(counterclockwise rotation). Being a two wire a/c motor, polarity has no to little affect on the direction of the motor.

Before you change the motor assembly, you may want to check the auger shaft, drum(s) and cube direction blade, and make sure they have not come loose from the auger shaft in the ice bin.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

The motor was running backwards. The original problem was it stopped working. When I cleaned the rust off of the armature and fields I put it back together inverted and it ran backwards. Its working fine now. Thanks for the reply and the quick delivery of the control board. I am very pleased with APP great technical advice, quick parts delivery.

Hg,

Great job.

I didn't even think about that, but then, I didn't know yopu had pulled the motor.

Thanks for the update.

Fridge is only 6 months old. Ice maker worked great. Recently quit making ice. Motor would try to turn ice tray wrong direction. Tray hits stop and then quits. Ordered complete new Ice maker
Istalled Plugged it in and it does the same thing. I turn it on and it attempts to turn clockwise and it has to turn counterclockwise to dump.
