 I have a GE refrigerator that stopped working except for the lights, the control board has a burn sport on the solder side. Next to and down from the line in connection. It appears to be part of the line in circuit and connects to a relay, could this have been caused by a faulty solder joint, or could something else have caused this burn? I ordered a new control board, but i'm a little leary about installing it. Could you please stear me in the rght direction?

Put the new board in, Make sure that its grounded correctly!!!! as soon as you do plug it in, Make sure that both fan motors and the compressor start correctly. You should be all set.:)
