The compressor on my 15 cubic foot GE Refrig. just clicks and wont start, the Evaporator fan runs constantly and the food is defrosting. Because of the clicking coming from the area of the compressor trying to start I in my own mind have ruled out the defrost timer.

Another issue with the same refrig. the back of the top and the left side top rear of the cabinet I have noticed have become caved in by 1/2" to 3/4". As this refrig sits in our cottage unused in the cold all winter I blamed this on that factor.

You have a very reliable start device on the side of the compressor AP3414961 If you have a meter, measure between the two terminals, should read about 5 ohms at room temperature. If ok, you have a bad compressor. This could be confirmed with an amprobe.
