Our Maytag MFD2561HES will not cool at all. If the unit is plugged in there will be noise by the compressor every few minutes lasting about 4 to 6 seconds and then stops. the fans are running but no cold air at all. This really makes for a problem as we live in the UP of Michigan and service calls are a repair service dream.
Thanks for any help to try to fix this problem.

Part 4 and 8 in this diagram of your compressor is the starter and overload relay. Look close when you hear the noise to see if its one of these making the noise. Replace it if it is. Replacement parts for MAYTAG MFD2561HES | AppliancePartsPros.com

 Good Morning all. The parts arrived yesterday! Very fast service. Now the bad news, no change in the cooling of the wonderful product made by Maytag. The relay still tries to start the compressor has it makes loud bussing sound for about 4 to 6 seconds. The top of the compressor is hot to the touch on the top of the unit. Any simple fix before I haul this 2 year old fridge to the land fill????

Thank you,

If the freezer is working ok it is probably the fan that is located on the back wall of the freezer box. If htat fan is not working it stops the air from getting to the refer section
