Freezer works great,lower half just gets cool.got new defroost timer from u guys ,now nothing works.also replaced bi-metal switch.heating element checks ok.you sent me part 2183400.what next?with old timer at least the compressor runs.with new timer compressor does not run...........

Note: I do not work for AppliancePartsPros so "u guys" does not apply.
If fans and compressor are off then you may be in a defrost cycle. Rotate the timer cam to see if the unit will fire up or wait and it should come out of defrost in about half an hour. If you do force it out then note where the cam is located, then after a couple hours check it's location to make sure it is rotating. If you mean that the lower half of the freezer is just getting cool then the freezer is not working properly. If only the lower half of the fresh food section is getting cool then check to see if the evaporator fan is running. It is required to push cold air into the fresh food section.
A model number may help diagnose your problem!!! |

did not leave fridg plugged in very long.You are probably right that it is in the middle of a cycle.i will try again .Thanks Alot for your help.
