I have a Kenmore Elite model 106.57789704. The ice maker quit suddenly. Read many post that spoke of the LED on the right being constant on or blinking. The LED on my unit is not lit at all. The switch is in the ON position.
I have a feeling the ice maker is functional, just not getting the signal to run. Any suggestion of where to start?

Fixed my own problem after reading several other posts. I found a cube jammed in the prongs of the ice maker. Free up the jam, and the LED came on and is functioning properly.

The functioning of the icemaker has absolutely nothing to do with the optics. The optics just send 115 volts to it.
If you have a meter, you could verify the white and black wires to the icemaker have 115 volts on them. If not, you can try new optics, AP3137510
Put in the search box above "ice maker and optics replaced but still not working" good diagnostic aid.
