My ice maker in my Kenmore fridge/freezer fried a few years ago when some plastic from a bag got wrapped up in it. I need to replace the ice maker.

Any idea what part number I would use for this? The model number for the fridge is 25378137892

Hi Gene,

Thanks so much for your help. I ordered the ice machine and installed it today. Installation is a snap. I had to replace some hardware under the sink to get a copper line over to the fridge again - I pulled all that out a long time ago.

I have water to the fridge and all seems to be a go there. I plugged in the ice machine, and have lowered the arm to turn it on - it never seems to request water. I don't know how this occurs - I am a computer guy afterall.

But ultimately, it seems like teh copper goes into a little blue pump down towards teh bottom of the fridge and then 2 power lines or sensor lines of some kind go up along with a water line.

As I have plugged in the ice machine and have water to this little pump, would you say that the pump has to be replaced? Is there any other explanation to water successfully reaching the pump but not getting into the ice machine?

I appreciate your help.

The part which you called "pump" is actually the water inlet valve. Try to apply 120 VAC straight to the water inlet valve solenoid. If it would not work, replace the water inlet valve.

- The water inlet valve Part number: AP2583509
Part number: AP2583509
