My GE refrigerator with a bottom freezer cools fine but makes an annoying sound when the compressor operates. All refrigerators make noise but this is a moderately high pitched sound that can be heard from adjacent rooms. I replaced the control board and that did not make any difference. Have not called a service person yet. It could be that this model just makes a loud noise but none of my other refrigerators make this sound. Any suggestions or solutions?

Is the noise from the compressor, or the freezer?

The unit is in a condo we use on weekends in the summer and sits on a cement floor.

Pull the back panel off and see if you can isolate it, might be tubing rattling, or weak compressor mounts, or internal compressor noise.
