Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

The freezer seems fine but the refrigerator is warm. I never see the evaporator fan running. At what times is it suppose to run? Is there a way to test if the fan is bad or if it is some part that is to control the fan that has failed?

Yes, the evaporator fan should run whenever the compressor and it's fan are running as they are wired in parallel.

When the compressor is running check for power across the fan, if you get 120 volts and it is not turning it is toast.

Thanks denman,

Before reading your reply I found some other info that stated that the ohms should be around 1k across the terminals. Mine had > 5m. Replaced the evaporator fan and all seems fine.
