My maytag two door refrigerator recently started smoking from the compressor section. the part that seems to have started was the
Overload/relay which attached to the compressor. That was the part that was burnt. Is this the only part that needs to be replaced or does this means that the compressor is also no good anymore? Where can i find the overload relay? What could have caused this and is this a normal thing with this model?

thanks

I covered some of what you ask in my blog post Maytag Refrigerator not Cooling and as for the other questions, if the pins on the compressor that the starter attachés to look good, then you should be OK. The best thing you can do after replacing the started is to ensure the coils are clean and the refrigerator has good airflow. And it's not normal for your particular model, it normal for just about every model anymore.
