Here are your parts Replacement parts for SXD22S2W models | AppliancePartsPros.comThe lower area of freezer is colder than upper area. Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running? If not then a temperature gradient in the freezer will happen as the air is not circulating. Check that the vent (Item 5 in Section 2) is clear in both compartments as it can impede air circulation. repair or replace? Cannot say as it depends on what is wrong with the unit. |

Tswing, It may be as simple as cleaning the condenser coil, and the area around the fridge, or maybe a slow running evaporator fan. To check the condenser coil, you'll need to remove the front grill, and use a vacuum to clear any debris that has accumulated on all the coils, be careful, the fins can be sharp. To check the evaporator fan, open the freezer door, you should be able to feel the air blowing towards you, in the area of the top shelf. and also check the back wall of the freezer compartment, for frost or ice build up on the wall, indicates a possible defrost problem. Also check and make sure the doors are closing and sealling, and that articles on all the shelves in both compartments are not hanging over the shelves or against any of the walls, restricting the air flow. Do these checks , repairs, give it a day or 2 to see if there's any improvement and we can go from there. Good Luck, :) :) :)

loweerr area of fridge still seems somewhat cold but upper areas not Tswing, You did check and clean the condenser coil, Cold air drops, hot air rises, so it will be cooler in the bottom, OK, so when you opened the freezer door there was no frost or ice on the back wall, and you could not hear or feel the air from the evaporator fan, correct ? We'd have to presume, the evaporator fan has stopped running, and is not circulating the cold air. Part number: AP4246892

Ok, now we have a good heat exchange process, it will take a while(an hour or 2 ) to properly equalize and start cooling properly. Give it a couple of hours, and recheck for a better cooling process and if the evaporator fan is running and moving air. :) :) :)

:) :) :) :) :) :) There is slightly some ice/frost on the back wall but its melting. And there is NOT any air movement. I can hear something under the fridge running where I cleaned out the dust. by not cleaning the underneath of the fridge have I made something fail? Like the evap fan?
